Less Shine...More Matte!

Matte polish hasn't taken over the normal look of shine on nails.  Finding the perfect matte that won't appear too streaky or that comes in more than black or neons definitely takes trial and error (and a little bit of cash investment).   As a fashion obsessed blogger, I had no choice but to keep making the investment until I found the one that works best for me...enter NYX Matte Polish.

NYX Mattes come in 16 colors that add a fashionable twist to any nail bed.  From the standard neon and black expecations to a beautiful baby pink (my girls called it Easter egg), the color options can work with any wardrobe choice.

The bottles are done in a cute circular style and since I'm a packaging whore it was eye catching for me. Cost of one bottle was $3.99 in my local beauty supply, $4 on the NYX site.  I purchased the baby pink and black to start.  Whether I would purchase again would be based on the streak factor, drying time and appearance after drying.

I chose the baby pink first because it was too hard to resist.  It was obvious that one coat would never be enough, leaving a streaked and milky finish (no pics necessary).  But that was a quick fix.   Since the first coat dried quickly, I was able to apply the second coat and come up with my new favorite pink for any skin tone.  The baby pink matte gave my nails the look of a sexy acrylic finish that I could picture on a modern day pin up girl!  Check it out below.   NYX Matte did better than others I have purchased in the same price range, held up well through the week (on natural nails) and drew compliments!  My next purchase will be Rose, Mint, Coffee and sky blue, at 4 bucks a bottle it's well worth it.

A fully done set--it was a quick job, don't mind the cuticles
